Teach Kids About Pollination

If you're looking to introduce kids to the subject of pollination, making a Magic Hazel Wand is a fun way to introduce children to the concept of how trees are pollinated. Let us show you how to make this simple craft project, which makes a great activity for a Forest School group of younger children.
The catkins from the male part of the hazel tree produce the pollen which is needed by the tiny (but very beautiful) female flowers so that they can develop into hazelnuts later in the year.
This activity makes a great session for Key Stage 1 school children and we often work with school groups delivering outdoor education on a range of topics. If you'd like to get in touch with us to find out how we can rewild your school curriculum then please get in touch.
